What responsibilities does the operator of electrical generation plants have and what options does he have to fulfill this responsibility?
The focus of this 8.2 conference, initiated and organized by 8.2 QHSE - Rostock, is operator responsibility in renewable energies.
The experts at our conference will examine this operator responsibility from the perspective of industry representatives and professional associations, represented by VBG and BG ETEM. In doing so, they offer practical examples and explain current technical options. The operator responsibility of every company, particularly in the area of renewable energy, is not only a central issue, but above all a complex and often underestimated issue.
Operating energy-generating plants also means fulfilling full obligations, including occupational safety, health and environmental protection. These are enshrined in German law and pose immense challenges for operators.
Renewable energies are currently undergoing a transformation towards providers of the general good and spearhead of energy generation. Accordingly, more importance is attached to their operational safety (especially onshore), which will lead to new tasks and challenges in the company in the future.
Together with experts from the security industry and representatives of professional associations, we would like to look at and discuss these challenges and identify opportunities for taking advantage of them. Using practical examples from the company and analysing them in conjunction with modern tools, we also take a look at the future. In doing so, we focus on the aspects of operational safety for the onshore & offshore sector that we will address when dealing with energy producers.
Taking a closer look at the safety culture in the onshore sector, we will shed light on the transformation from small plants — energy producers of the 80/90s to the essential industrial infrastructure of the modern era. Operators' actions and preventive safety thinking will adapt to this change, towards a safety culture similar to that already practiced offshore. Comparisons between on and offshore are used to show how the onshore sector can benefit from the experience of offshore experts.
