Photovoltaic system certificate - customer experience & competence is constantly increasing

The plant certificate for photovoltaic power plants of 135 kilowatts or more caused delays in connecting many plants to the grid not too long ago. The federal government then created facilitating transitional arrangements and is planning further changes in autumn. Volodymyr Lysak, managing director of the 8.2 Certification Office, explains how this has affected the market (in an interview with Sandra Enkhardt, pv magazine)

pv magazine: Almost 2 years ago, the topic of plant certification for photovoltaic systems starting at 135 kilowatts boiled up. It became known that many systems cannot be connected to the grid because they lack the plant certificate. Has the situation on the market improved somewhat in the meantime?

Volodymyr Lysak: We only received ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation for issuing the plant certificate at the end of November 2020. The accreditation was postponed several times due to travel restrictions. As a new certification body, we did not yet have any regular customers, we were very happy to receive the request and offer our service. At this point, we felt an increased demand for certifications, particularly for type B. We received inquiries every day as to whether we still had spare capacity. Thanks to our online customer portal, we were usually able to create an offer in up to three days and we have not yet canceled a customer due to the processing time.
